Morgan Stanley Smith Barney announced today it will be hosting Womens
Leadership receptions in Chicago and New York, focused on women,
business and philanthropy.

types of events with organizations that focus on the professional and
personal development of women and girls in the community like the
Womens Business Development Center in Chicago and Girls, Inc. of
Westchester County.”
The event, which is open to the public with advance registration, will
feature Barbara Corcoran, Real Estate Mogul, Business Expert and Real
Estate contributor for NBCs TODAY Show and will be moderated by
Caroline Gundeck, Executive Director, Chair, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney
Womens Employee Networking Group.
Barbara Corcoran became of the most successful entrepreneurs in the
country when she took a $1,000 loan to start The Corcoran Group. She
parlayed the loan into a five-billion-dollar real estate business and
sold it in 2001 for $70 million. She has also invested in
income-producing property in the New York City area. Barbara is the real
estate contributor for NBCs TODAY Show where she comments weekly on
trends in the real estate market. She is also an investor/shark on ABCs
reality hit Shark Tank. In the first season, she bought eight
young businesses which shes shepherding to success. Barbara is the
